how do you make sure...

..that your new Super Famicom / Famicom stuff is really new?

Since Nintendo japan decided to not seal their games, how collectors can make sure that they really buy new software?

that what makes me really curious about Smile

I always used to check the flaps of the box, if they have been opened, you will most definately see it(fingernail dents or fingerprints).

Not necessarily. There is a way to open a flap with the blunt edge of a knife and not leave a mark OR bend the tabs. However, when a flap has been pulled back, it'll "Crack" the printing on the hinge crease and start to show through white (The colour of the cardboard box). Everytime a flap is opened, it makes this hinge crease a little bit weaker, and the more you open it the more wear it will suffer
